Holistic Pelvic Care™ was developed by Tami Kent, MS Physical Therapy and uses a combination of physical and energetic skill to restore balance within the pelvic bowl. This practice utilizes internal vaginal myofascial release, trigger point therapy, visualization, breathing and energy work to release restricted connective tissue, restore organ alignment and improve overall vitality.
Many of us hold chronic pelvic tension, emotional stress, postural and energetic imbalances in our wombs and pelvic bowl. This technique can assist with:
- Strengthen muscles
- Recovery after childbirth
- Recovery after pregnancy loss
- Fertility support, pre-conception wellness, birth and postpartum healing
- Menstrual difficulties
- Pelvic pain
- Prolapse
- Incontinence
- Improve sensation
- Chronic low back pain
- Chronic pelvic tension and reduce pelvic congestion
- Facilitate pelvic connection and proprioception
- Post-surgical and trauma recovery
- Painful intercourse
- Expand self-expression, creativity and reconnect to feminine beauty
What to expect during your first Holistic Pelvic Care ™ Session?
The initial interview is followed by a physical assessment of the tissues where palpation determines the location of pelvic tension and the active engagement of the pelvic muscles with a contraction or “kegel”. Based on the assessment, treatment may include intervaginal myofascial release, trigger point therapy, breathwork and visualization.
All ages (19+) benefit from HPC whether it’s part of healing a specific condition, pre-conception wellness or the journey into menopause and long term vaginal health. Many report feeling relaxed, grounded, decreased symptoms, increased pelvic strength, having an increased sense of internal awareness and creativity.
Counselling is often recommended in a combination of HPC treatments to address full-spectrum healing when dealing with the challenges of sexual abuse, sexual trauma, fertility challenges or cancer recovery and support.
Holistic Pelvic Care™ is a treatment that is available for cisgender women and non-binary folks as well. Sheryl has clinical experience working with transgender individuals.
