Cheyenne Ling

Cheyenne Ling, RCC Registered Clinical Counsellor

Through her own experiences and healing journey, she recognizes that entering the therapeutic environment may be a daunting experience for many. Acknowledging the need for help can also be a challenging step to take. Therefore, her primary aim as a therapist is to create a safe space where clients can be honest, open, and vulnerable. Inspired by the teachings of Carl Rogers, she believes that individuals are the experts of their own lives. She is committed to establishing a genuine, non-judgmental, and empathetic relationship that fosters a sense of security for her clients. Within this supportive environment, clients can openly communicate their challenges, develop heightened self-awareness, and discover their own effective solutions. She holds a trauma-informed lens and pays careful attention to the impact of traumatic experiences on individuals’ emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. She also utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques, collaborating with clients to identify and modify unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors. She approaches each therapeutic relationship with cultural humility, keeping an open and curious perspective while continuously learning about each client’s unique identity.

Outside of her professional life in counselling, she enjoys running in nature, practicing yoga, learning about psychedelic-assisted therapies, meditating, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and dog.

Education & Experience

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Victoria and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, aiming to become a Registered Clinical Counsellor. She has experience working with adults in inpatient settings as a psychometrist, where she supported individuals dealing with neurological and mental health challenges such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, depression, and anxiety. She is also an active volunteer with the Looking Glass Foundation, where she provides peer support by facilitating open conversations with individuals recovering from eating disorders and body image challenges.
