At Empower Health, our physiotherapy sessions are designed to help you regain movement, reduce pain, and restore physical function — at a pace that works for you. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, or healing after surgery, we take the time to understand your body and your goals.

Your initial visit includes a full assessment, covering your health history, symptoms, and physical function. Based on this, your physiotherapist will create a tailored treatment plan using hands-on techniques such as joint mobilizations, myofascial release, massage, and craniosacral therapy.

We also provide education and simple, guided exercises you can continue at home — so you stay supported between sessions. Our approach is holistic, which means we may also assess and treat areas beyond the pain site if they’re contributing to the issue.

Each session is one-on-one and one hour long, ensuring you receive focused care from a qualified physiotherapist committed to evidence-based treatment and your long-term well-being.

Frequently Asked Questions

For any questions or inquiries, feel free to call us or schedule an appointment.

What happens during my first physiotherapy session?

Your first visit includes a full assessment where your physiotherapist reviews your medical and injury history, evaluates your movement, and identifies the root cause of your symptoms. You’ll also receive hands-on treatment and simple exercises tailored to your needs.

Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a physiotherapist in Vancouver?

No, you don’t need a referral to book an appointment. However, some extended health plans may require one for reimbursement, so it’s a good idea to check with your insurance provider.

Is physiotherapy covered by insurance in BC?

Yes, most extended health insurance plans in British Columbia cover physiotherapy. At Empower Health, we offer direct billing for many major providers. If you’re unsure about your coverage, we’re happy to help you check before your session.

How many sessions will I need to feel better?

It depends on your condition, how your body responds, and your goals. Some people feel improvement within a few sessions, while others with more complex issues may benefit from a longer treatment plan.

What kinds of conditions can physiotherapy help with?

Physiotherapy can support recovery from injuries, surgery, chronic pain, posture problems, and more. It’s also helpful for stress-related tension and improving everyday mobility.
